Dec. 14.—The Harvard varsity football schedule for next season was ccmpleted yesterday, .| when final arrangements were made for a game with Centre College of Kentucky in the stadium on October 29, The Crimson becausc of a double- header on Sptember 24 with Middie- bury and Boston Umversity will play ten games instead of nine next Fall. Holy Cros, brown and Centre Col- lege have been retained for the early schedule. Penn State has been given a game two weeks before Harvard will meet Princeton. Two teams which have never before played at Cambridge are on the list for next Fall. They are University of Indmna and University of Georgia. The Princeton game on November 5 will be the only one the Crimson will play away from home. LEWIS REGAINS TITLE Joe Stecher 1s Downed After 1 Hour, 41 Minutes and 56 Seconds of Pun- shing Work—Victor Uses Headlock. New York, Dec. 14.—A new world's champion wrestler was crowned at the Seventy-first Regiment Armory last night when KEd Strangler Lewis of San Jose, Cal. threw Joe Stecher in their title bout. Lewis pinned the shoulders of the former champion to the mat after one hour and forty-one minutes and fifty-six sconds of d and desperate struggzling on the of both men. He pinned Stecher's shoulders to the mat with a head and hip lock. This was the climax of fully ten minutes of as desperate wrestling as has been seen in New York in many years and the great e¢rowd was held almost breathless while the two big men tugged at each other with their favorite holds. Lewis with his deadly head lock and Stecher with the scis- sors hold which he made famous. Lewis finally conquered Stecher after he had worn him down with a series of seven head locks clamped on in a rapid suecession just as quickly as the farmer boy would break and get free. Stecher finally became so weak | and exhausted from the punishment he was subjected to that, when Lewis finally got a head and hip lock, the former champion could not resist his opponent and was rolled over onto his shoulders while the crowd rose in a tumult to acclaim the new cham- pion.
