CLAIMS DAUGHTER RAN AWAY, Mr. Phllips, of 108 Capitol avenue, Hartford, complain to the loeal po. lice this morning, that his 17-years old daughter, Mildred Phillips, who is wanted Hartford for violation of NEW BRITAIN DAILY HERALD, TUESDAY, DECEMBER | SPRAGUE SECURES | BOOKS FRON HEALY Auditors to Start Examination o Red Cross Accounts Tomorrow | Leon A. Sprague, treasurer of the New Britain Chapter American Red Cross, who succeeded Raymond R. Healy in that capacity when he went to Hartford to be aligned with the LUnited States Bank, said today that the books are now in his possesston, and the audit will be commenced to- morrow. This work will be in charge of Frederick A. Macomber of the New Britaln Trust company, and Willlam H. Judd of the New Britain National bank. The books and =tate- ments of the Redl Cross have been h Mr. Healy's possession since he left this city. Commenting on the case today, Mr. Sprague said there is every reason to believe that the audit will show that the organization has not been a loser through Mr. Healy's admitted acts. He bases this claim on the fact that the organization last year had a membership of about 16,000 persons, and as one-half of the money taken in must be turhed over to the national chapter, it would indicate that the check recelved by Mr. Spraaguwe on November 15, from Mr. Healy for $8,075.38 was about the amount the chapter had after com- plying with the donation to the headquarters. A few small bills were pald, Mr. Sprague stating that the entire amount would not total over $60. Judge George W. Kiett, counsel for Mr. Healy, said fthis morning that there wAS every reason to believe that the shortage at the bank would be covered by restitution within a few days. It is likely that when the case is called for trial in the Hart- ford police court next Saturday morn- ing, the account at the bank will have been made clear. Judg: Klett could give but very little information today concerning the entire affair, it being his claim that he has had put little time to confer with hig client. During the brief rhoments of conversation, M Healy has practiedlly said that. his affair at the Hartford bank was the only one of its kind that he is in- volved in.
