Be cause a certain dealer or firm actua Iy gives the purchaser service is often the deciding factor in the s=ale of a car. It need hardly be remarked here that various impositions are repre- sented as service. Good service is to be had in Hartford. It is being given every day in the week by the best dealers here, who make it a point to fook over their customers. Conspicu- ous for the quality of service that is given the customer is the Univers Auto company, distributors of the air- cooled Franklin. This concern has represented the Franklin a little over a year. In this Hme it has raised the car from ob- pourity and put it where it belongs, at the top of the list, in the front row fn the estimation of the automobile buying public. The Franklin car has been a success in this city under the yegime of the Universal Auto company There are at least three reasons for this. First of all it is a good car, ail that it is claimed to bBe. The direct mir-cooling system works perfectly. The organization back of the car s conscientious. From tht outset the Universal Auto company has extend- ed to Franklin owners beral service proposition. Once a month every Franklin car is thoroughly inspected. No detail overlooked As a result there is def inite knowledge of the condition of every Franklin car. The so-cailed Uni- versal Auto company guarantee ac companies everv Praklin sold by the local agents v Company’s Factory. When the last freight train out of the big Overland yards on Jan. 31 it was found that a new shipping record had been established by the | Willys-Overland company. actly i automobiles had been shipped during the day. This is not only the high water mark for the big Toledo factory, but is said to be a record never before equalled by any other manufacturer of medium or high priced cars. In the height of the spring selling season a d shipment of 722 cars would be considered a remarkable performance even in this time of tre- mendous productions. But when that number of automobiles is shipped out to purchasers in the dead of winte with half the country buried in snow it is nothing short of phenomenal. In January, 1915, the total number of cars that left the factory amount- ed to 4,613, while during the month just ended the shipments amounted 1o 12,393. The increase was even | greater during the earlier months of the 1916 season as compared to the corresponding months of the pre- vious year. A from pulled 722 year ago the daily shipments the Overland factory averaged 1150 cars, or less than one-fourth of |its present output. In one year the company has increased the manufac- ! turing facilities so that it is now po sible to build 1,000 machines every twenty-four hours.
