Mayor C. B. Harvey will speak at the opening of the Monroe Coun- ty Cerebral Palsy and Cripples Association, Inc., membership drive which opens Saturday at 5 p. m. in front of Navarros on Du- val Street. Mayor Harvey will be introduced by Louis Carbonell. Members of the Key West High Band under the direction of Harold Casterton will play for the occasion, and ladies will be seated at tables to take the memberships. Purpose of the membership drive is to provide funds ‘to establish the therapy clinic for the treatment of cripples of Monroe County. First contribution in this year’s drive came from the Rotary Club which donated $150 toward the pur- chase of a table, the first piece jof clinic equipment needed. Guard Of Honor Holds Annual Dinner The history and splendid tradi- tion of the Key West Guard of Honor was the main topic of the speech given by Captain John Del- gado to that body and their guests at their seventh anniversary din- ner held Wednesday night. Seven years ago in Ccotber the Guard of Honor had its inception as a more or less “elite corps” of the Arthur Sawyer American Legion Post’ here. Membership in portion of the active members of | the Legion and members are select- | ed because of outstanding ability and aptitude they have shown.
