NEW ENGLAND COLONIAL HOME—The house plan presented today by The Star and the Washington metropolitan section of the Maryland Society of Architects is designed for a lot which slopes to the rear or side. This gives a daylight basement and an attached garage at ground level. The plan offers large rooms and a minimum of waste space. It was designed by Fred E. Taylor of Silver Spring, Md., who estimates it can be built for about $9,000, excluding lot cost and with basement unfinished. Front walls would be of Maryland stone, backed by tile or cinder ¢ Curing Rosin Globules Sometimes small globules of rosin | appear in groups through painted exterior surfaces. This indicates | that the wood may not have been properly prepared before painting. To reduce further trouble scrape off | the rosin globules carefully and then wash over several times with tur- penfine or naphtha. Next apply a | coat of aluminum primer and when this has thoroughly dried paint the surface with the desired finishing | coat. UNUSUAL HOME BARGAIN 2320 ASHMEAD PLACE N.W.
