Some of them even relate how they | carry their pillows and sheets down ' D. C, SATURDAY, AUGUST 1, to the porch or out to the Summer house in order to have some refresh- ment out of the night hours. It should not be necessary to resort to such extreme measures as this. Adding insulation to the house will make your bed rooms, even those up under the roof, bearable in Summer. The amount of money it costs to force rock wool between the inner and outer walls of the house by means of a pneumatic hose is less than that you'd spend for a new family car—and it will last more years. There is a company that will come at the drop of a hat, estimate what it would cost to fill in the air spaces in your walls with ffuffy, fire-resistant and permanent threads spun from rock, and within & week you can have an indoor change of temperature, no matter what the thermometer does outdoors. It is the same material that is made into “batts” or pads look- ing like cotton batting, for new houses When you “spit” the stuff in it is kept in little nodules, like whorls of thread, 50 it can be projected from the hose Every one in the family will enjoy Let 1937. Especially when there are major things to be done, like re-covering & floor, must one be foresighted enough to plca well in advance. If you are going to do over a fioor, may we suggest cork tile? It isn't a new material, but it has been used comparatively little for residences, when you stop to think that it is just as cheap as wood block and cheaper than rubber tile.
