NEW YORK, July 22.—Phillips Pe- troleum Co., a leading producer, re- finer and marketer of crude oil, re- ported net profit for the six months ended June 30 of $12,679,080 after charges, equal to $2.85 a share, against $7,336,302, or $1.77 a share, in the same period last year. Directors declared a dividend of 50 cents a share and an extra dividend of 25 cents, payable September 1 to stock of record August 6 Union Carbide & Carbon. Union Carbide & Carbon Corp,, with over 160 principal plants scat- tered over the United States, reported net income for the quarter ended June 30 of $10,505,140, after interest, depreciation, taxes and other charges, equal to $1.17 a share on 9,000,743 shares.
