THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTO D. C., TUESDAY, MARCH 16, 1937. ARREST EXPECTED [ e INCABLESLAYING | = PHILADELPHIA, March 16.— An old safe found behind the bathtub in the home of Henrietta E. Garrett—who left a $20,000,000 estate undistributed—revealed its secret yesterday. While 20 attorneys for claim- ants, the estate and Orphans’ Court officials watched, the lock was broken. The door swung open on a dusty interior from which was taken an abdominal surgical belt, a loaded revolver and cartridges, and a card listing building and loan holding total- ing $800—but no will. Nearly 20,000 persons are claim- ing shares in the estate of the recluse widow who inherited most of the fortune from her husband, Walter Garrett, snuff manu- facturer.
