D. degree from Yale University. For many years, until 1912, he was astronomer at the NavalObservatory De Mot here. In the lat- ter year he went to Yale to aid a group of sctemuu in computing “tables of the moon.” The calculations, which are made every 150 years, required about eight years to complete. Returning to Washington, Dr. Hed- rick became chief ballistician at the ,{ Aberdeen Proving Grounds, remaining until he retired in 1932. He had written a number of mathe- matical tables and completed a cat- alogue of zodiacal stars which is widely used by scientists.
