NEW YORK, September 19.—Cot- ton made new low grcund for the present movement today under con- tinued hedging which was absorbed by trade buying on a scale-down. December sold off to 1190 and closed at that figure, with the general market showing net declines of 8 to 13 points. The opening was 3 to 5 points lower under overnight hedge selling from the South and scattered liquida- tion on reports of improving weather conditions in the belt. Brokers with Japanese connections were fairly good Buyers and there was a continued trade demand. Prices worked downward, however, closing at the low of the day.
