Nelson Zane Town, until re- | cently an official at headquarters of the Seventh Day Adventist General | Conference. in Takoma Park, died on Saturday at the White Memorial Hos- pital in Los Angeles. He was 73 years old. Mr. Town resigned his position here | a short time ago because of ill health and went to California to convalesce. He entered the hospital for examina- tion after atetnding the Adventist con- | vention in San Prancisco with his | wife last month. Following his graduation from the | missionary college at South Dancas- | ter, Mass.. in 1889, Mr. Town, who was | County, N. Y. served as a religious worker in Scotland, England, and in secretary of the publishing depart- ment of the conference. He was married to Miss Sadie Gra- ham shortly after graduation from | college and left with his wife a short | time later for Scotland. He was | transferred to England and then to South America, where he spent 12 years as a missionary in the Argen- tine, returning to the United States in 1909 to accept the secretarial posi- tion. He held that office until five years ago when he was again sent to the | Argentine, on that occasion to be- come president of the Autral Union. After two and a half years in that positisn he once more was made pub- | lishing secretary at Takoma Park. His body is to be returned to Takoma Park, where he lived at 106 | Lincoln avenue, and burial is to be in | Cedar Hill Cemetery. W. U., Vie- tim of Canoe Accident Above Chain Bridge. Grappling irons were thrown into the Potomac River above Chain Bridge today by police searching for the body of Jack Hayes Ridlebaugh, 21, of 812 Somerset place, a George Washington University student. Ridlebaugh drowned yesterday as his life-long friend, Stuart B. Wright, 24, of 1202 Delafield place looked on helplessly. The two young men were paddling a canoe toward the Virginia shore when their craft was upset by the currents which eddy above Chain Bridge. Ridlebaugh struck out for the bank, but 20 feet off shore sank from sight where the water is 80 feet deep. The strong current made it impossible for Wright to swim to his friend’s rescue. Ridlebaugh, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ridlebaugh of the Somerset place address, was to have | been graduated from George Washing- ton in September. JUNE 29, 1936 FREDERICKA BULWER DIES AT AGE OF 83 Native of Germany Passes Away at Home of Daughter Here. Mrs. Predericka . Bulwer, 83, widow of Gustav Bulwer, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen B. Hall, 525 Oglethorpe street. Death was attributed to pneumonia, which developed after she suffered a hip fracture in a fail. A native of Germany, Mrs. Bulwer was for many years a resident of Ashton, Md. For some time she had | lived here each Winter with her daughter at the Oglethorpe street address and had been a resident there continuously since last October. Mr. and Mrs. Bulwer had been| married 61 years, lacking one week, | when he died last April. She is sur- vived by two daughters, Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Mary B. Clark, also of this city. | Funeral services will be held at| 2 pm. Wednesday at the Oglethorpe street address. Rev.
