REAL ESTATE, PRODUCERS' CLUB ORGANIZED HERE Encouraging Use of Im- proved Building Material Is Aim of Group. Sketching its program of encourag- ing the use of improved building ma- terials and equipment, the Producers’ Council Club of Washington last week perfected its formal organization. John F. ‘Gowen, executive secretary of the Producers’ Council, Inc., with head- quarters in New York, presented the charter of the Washington club to Hector M. Aring of Johns-Manville Corp. The group of 25 representatives of prominent building materials indus- tries was also addressed by Max Dun- ning of the American Institute of Architects. “The complexity of the modern building and the varieties of material necessary to construct it make it prac- tically impossible for an architect to be well acquainted with all materials and methods,” Dunning said. He said both the architect and Government agencies must derend upon some re- liable central source of information, a function which might well be filled in this locality by the Producers’ Council Club. The other speaker on the program was Arthur B. Heaton, president of the Washington Chapter of the Amer- ican Institute of Architects, who offered the co-operation of the archi- tectural profession in Washington for & closer bond between the groups ‘which perform the various functions in buiding work.
