RESIDENT ROOSEVELT will make a personal appeal to the people of America to co- operate with the 1935 Mobili- zation for Human Needs in raising funds for relief agencies this Winter in an address from the White House, Thursday, October 24, over combined C. B. S. and N. B. C. networks. The President’s address will open the first of four Nation-wide broad- casts in behalf of the 1935 mobiliza- tion and will be followed by an ad- dress by Gerard Swope, chairman of the National Citizens' Committee of the mobilization, who will speak from the Masonic Temple in Detroit. The initial broadcast will include a concert by the Detroit Symphony Or- chestra, under the direction of Victor Kolar, and a mixed chorus of 550 voices. Other noted speakers and musical organizations will be heard on succeed- ing broadcasts which are designed to bring home to the American public the importance and necessity of co- operation with privately organized charities in meeting their obligations this Winter. * ok ok x RADIO will greet a new character Sunday when “Matt Clemens, the Melody Master,” central figure of a HELP—MEN.
