A battle between a river rat and a rabbit has been reported by a boy who witnessed the event on the banks of the River Stinchar near Colmonell, Scotland. The rat bit the rabbit savagely on the neck, but finding it- self unable to kill its foe on land, hauled the bunny into the river and held it under water with the intention of drowning it. The boy then stopped the fight by dropping a stone into the water and both contestants escaped.
