" D=2 ¥ SOCIETY. British Ambassador Greets Visiting Doctors at Embassy _A’mericari Diplomat to Be Entertained by French Ambassador and His Wife. Chief Justice on Cruise. HE dean of the diplomatic corps, His Britannic Majesty’s As- bassador Sir Ronald Lindsay, received informally at the embassy yesterday the distinguished British doctors who are in the Cap- ital for a brief stay en route to attend a meeting of the British Medical Association at Melbourne, Australia. The visitors made & tour of the spa- cious embassy building and charm- ing gardens accompanied by the Am- ‘bassador and members of the embassy staff. There will be no social function for the visitors during their stay. The Ambassador will leave Wash- ington the middle of next wek pre- paratory to sailing August 16 on the Berengaria for his home in England. The Ambassador of France and Mme. de Laboulaye will entertain at & luncheon tomorrow at the embassy in honor of the United States Am- bassador to Prance, Mr. Jesse Isadore Strauss, who is in Washington for a few days. The Ambassador and Mme. de Laboulaye have as their guest at the embassy Mlle. Siegfried, daughter of | the French professor of economics at | the College of France, who is tour- 1gg this country and will visit at the | embassy later in the season.
