This sum will be required to pro- vide for the unemployable—the aged, insane and crippled—and undertake “substantial projects” which require more than the $1,100 or $1,200 avail- able per worker from Federal funds. About $300.000,000 Needed. The New Deal aim is to transfer all unemployables to the care of the | States after the Federal work pro- gram gets under way.
