HARRISON GIVEN PORTRAT O L Texas Senator Receives Gift From Artist, Sara Pryor Dodge. A portrait of Senator Pat Harrison of Mississippi, one of the Democratic leaders of the Senate, has just been Ppresented to the Senator by the artist who painted it, Sara Pryor Dodge (Mrs. Hunter 8. Kimbrough). The artist is a resident of Wash- fngton, and formerly lived in New York and Mississippi. She studied at Grand Central School of Art, New York City: in Europe and under her father, the late William de Leftwich Dodge, noted American artist. Her portraits are well known in New York and California, and she also has done several for Wash- ingtonians. Although devoting her time principally to portraits. she at times assisted her father in his mural work, particularly the decorations in the flag room of the Capitol at Albany, which were completed while President Roosevelt was Governor of New York. She is a granddaughter of Roger A. Pryor of Virginia, Con- federate general. member of Congress and justice of the New York Supreme Court. Eight more conventions, expected to bring close to 2000 delegates to ‘Washington, have been through the Greater National Capital Committee of the Washington Board of Trade, it was announced yesterday by Curtis Hodges, executive director. | Daughters of 1812 will come here next scheduled | April. The National Public Housing Con- ference will meet at the Willard Hotel January 325, 1936, with 300 delegates present. ‘The National Sentinels will come here on April 13, 1936, also with about 300 members in attendance. The United States Naval Reserve Association plans to meet here in October.
