April 24 —The corpo- rate section of the bond list in the early trading today showed & disposi- tion to continue its evenly paced climb to higher levels. United States Governments likewise registered uni- form progress. The influence of the record low money rates and reports of well sus- tained industrial activity in many di- rections appeared to outweigh the in- flationary conversation prompted by the latest advance of silver in the considerations of traders. In the Federal division Treasury 3'gs rose 12-32ds of a point to 105.1. elsewhere the gains ranged from 1-32d to 6-32ds. The higher yielding categories re- ceived sufficient buying interest to raise values fractionally in numerous instances. Such improvement ap- peared in loans of Baltimore & Ohio, Chile Copper, Columbia Gas & Elec- tric, Erie. International Telephone, New York Central. Southern Pacific and Youngstown Sheet & Tube. Among the low yield issues com- manding slightly higher prices were Consolidated Gas 5':5 at 108%, ‘ Pennsylvania general 41,8 at 107 and Union Pacific 4s at 102. Such issues as showed losses were not heavily on the minus side. They included American Telephone 5s, Duquesne Light 4'»s, National Diary 51.s and Texas Corp. 5s. Most of the foreign list had a steady tome. Small gains _were recorded by loans of Argentina, Brazil, Germany. Japan and Norway, Italian | 7% gave up a point at 88'¢. The market yielded a few points in the early trading under near-month selling and scattered liquidation.
