Interment will be in Rock Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Chappel, widow of C. Willlam Chappel, was born February 11, 1853, at Richford, Vt. She also leaves three sons, Dr. Halbert W. Chappel of Los Angeles, Rev. Merlyn A. Chappel of Pottsville, Pa, and Rev. Donald M. Chappel of Buffalo, N. Y. A sister, Mrs. Julia J. Currier, and brother, Theron W. Pearse, who died last June and left an estate of $54,048, left a trust fund of $10,000 for the care of pet animals and $1,500 to her husband. The bill warned Pearse not to take any steps to contest it, or he would receive nothing. She said in the document that he had not contributed anything to her support since he de- serted her in 1901.
