B—14 * CONVITS ESCAPE ONWAY TO PRISON Three Overpower Deputies and Take Auto En Route to Penitentiary. By the Associated Press. PARIS, Ill, November 30.—The sherifl’s office today announced three prisoners en route to the Chester Peni- tentiary escaped from two deputy sheriffs on the highway south of Vandalia. The prisoners escaped in the officers’ automobile, a large sedan. It was reported that a pistol had been smuggled to the prisoners before they started the drive across the State to the Chester prison. The report said the men had robbed the deputies of money and weapons and driven away in the automobile.
