Crowe, formerly permit clerk of the Health Department, died yesterday in Georgetown Hospital after a long {llness. He had retired from Government service in 1926 after 25 rears with tne Health Depart- ment. Born on the Isle of Man, in the Irish Sea off Lancashire, Mr. Crowe came to America in 1880 at the age of 19. He had lived in the Mid- dle West before coming to Wash- ington. After his retirement Mr. Crowe spent much of his time at his house in Colonial Beach, Va., but recently had been living at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eola Wright, 317 Longfellow street. Louis H. Crowe, e Wright, he is survived by two sons. Roy C. and Douglas M. Crowe, and two other daughters, Mrs. V. H. Schutz and Mrs. James W. Waller. Rev. Gedrge F. Berkeley, 57, clerk in the General Land Office of the In- terior Department, died suddenly y:i terday after a heart attack at his home, 1803 Oregon avenue. A graduate of Lincoln Theological Seminary, he had been a clergyman in Hagerstown, Md., and Berryville, Va, but retired from the ministry in 1917 to enter the Bureau of En- graving and Printing.
