FINANCIAL CURB SHARES RISE INBRISK TURNOVER Sharp Demand for Oils and Utilities Takes Market Higher. Bpecial Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK, July 6.—Curb exchange stocks rallied vigorously today following an irregularly lower opening, with vol- ume increasing on the advance. Utilities and ofls led the upward swing, followed by the metals and a lst of miscellancous industrials and specialties. Increased consumption of electric current, rising prices for crude oil and improvement in non-ferrous metal quotations &il added to the im- petus generated by inflationary senti- ment. E'eciric Bond & Share headed the re- covery in the utilities as it rebounded from a slightly lower opening and by mid-day was selling slmost 2 points higher on a large turnover. over 2 points, Ocasolidated Gas of Balti- | more advance. a point and Nlagara- Hudson Pov.r and United Light &| Power A shares were up fractionally.
