One of the patients to be rehabiil~ tated was an insurance salesman, who was obliged to carry with him a pad and heavy pencil for making notes of exaggerated size. Still another client was a housewife whose failing sight made it impossible for her to keep up with the dutles of | her home. The third was a young man who had | been almost blind from birth. He was |unable to read or to get about the | streets unassisted. The rehabilitation of these three was brought about through the co-operation of the institute for the blind, H. C: Corpering, supervisor in charge of vo~ cational rehabilitation service for the District, and Dr. Edwin H. Silver, op= tometrist. They were fitted with spe- cial telescope lenses recently perfected by Dr. Silver and Dr. William Fine- \bloom of New York City. After the fitting the insurance man was enabled to lay aside his heavy pad and pencil, and now is conducting a successful insurance business.
