Deutscher Literarischer Verein.—An- nual election of officers was held June 10 at the home of the president, 1529 Rhode Island avenue. Anita Schade, who founded the soclety in 1901, was again elected president. Others re- elected were: Dr. F. J. Hemelt, vice president; Anita Virginia Mueller, re- ‘cording secretary, and Alma V. Bischoff, corresponding secretary. The former treasurer, Louise Worden, was replaced by Marie Louise Hagmueller. Theodore Dreher will attend to publicity and Mrs. Wharlotte V. Bird will be assisting chair- man for the Program Committee, with Anita Schade retaining her position as its chairman. Iise E. Rotz was made chairman of the Dramatic Commiftee, which selects short German plays to be presented during the season. Anita Schade was presented by the Federation of Women's Clubs on June 9 in a talk over radio WMAL on “Two ‘Women—Klara Wieck (Schumann) and Elizabeth Barrett (Browning). —Miss Schade will be heard in a number of educational talks over the radio next ‘Winter, Chevy Chase Branch, N.
