Live stock, meats, wool and hides continued- their some- what delayed and hesitating upward trend. Mill feeds average about the same as in early May, although some kinds were inclined to share the reac- tion in the grain market. Most lines of frults and vegetables are in full sup- 5 ply for the season and price trend is downward. Unsettle Butter Markets. ‘The butter markets have shown un- certainty during the pericd of small ad- vances and declines since the middle of the month, Trading was cautious. Receivers reported slight increase in shipments from certain sections. With the increase in the volume of medium and lower grades the price spread be- tween the top scores and lower grades has widened somewhat. Pastures have developed rapidly in all sections. Cheese markets were generally firm and prices in city wholesale markets were arcund three-fourths to 1 cent higher, in line with higher cost in pro- ducing sections. Trading was gen- erally less active than during the sev- eral preceding weeks and purchases were largely confined to medium and small lots. Egg Markets Weak. ‘Trade output of eggs in the leading markets is still lagging behind this time last year. Production is not showing the early decrease ‘The mar- kets are receilving more eggs than can readily be lhotbed at prevailing pricu, trend after the middle of May. Receipts of fresh-killed fowl are light and all offerings are being taken at unchanged prices. some of the bet- ter marks bringing an occaslonal pre- mium. Broilers are in more liberal supply, but meet steady demand at prices higher than those of late May last year. Live Stock Market Firm. Although showing occasional signs of sions from the highest levels, the trade in live stock after the middle of May was at rising price levels throughout practically the entire list and on the highest basis of the year. Marketings of all lines showed decreases, suggest- ing producers’ hopes of further price Scnrcny of spot offerings and the heavy purchases made by manufac- turers since the latter part of April were given as leading factors in a somewhat slower trade in wool on the market. Further moderate to advances in prices were realized, as buyers continued to accumulate available supplies of new and old wools. Considerable interest in the Boston market was shown in offerings of for- eign wools for import and sizeable or- ders were reported placed in foreign primary markets. Some Feeds Higher. Wheat feeds, particularly the lighter kinds, were weak in latey May, “wlf.h slower demand. Prices of bran, stand- ard middlings and shorts were mostly lower, but SErltna m‘g’l‘-:e“ flour middlings were somewhat er at the princi) distributing markets. P bal.
