FEDERAL HOUSIG T0 BE REARRANGED Personnel Classification and Efficiency Bureau Concen- tration 0. K.’d. Another rearrangement in the hous- ing of Government workers will take place soon as & result of a meeting yes- terday of the Public Buildings Commis- sion. The move involves the Personnel Classification Board and scattered bu- reaus of the Labor Department. Lieut. Col. U. 8. Grant, 3d, the com- mission’s executive officer, announced after a meeting at the Capitol that the commission approved the concentration of the Personnel Classification Board with the Bureau of Efficiency on the upper three floors of the Winder Build- ing at Seventeenth and F streets. This will involve giving up the Winder Annex Building, with the resultant sav- ing to Uncle Sam of $2,500 annually. Col. Grant said also that the com- mission indorsed the concentration of sundry bureaus of the Department of Labor in the remainder of the Winder ‘Building and in the old Civil Service Commission Building, recently vacated when that commission moved to the old Patent Office. This transfer will involve the Women'’s and Children’s Bureau of the Department of Labor, now housed in temporary structures. The exodus from temporary buildings near the Munitions Building and Twen- tieth strcet and Constitution avenue will make room available, probably for the Federal Trade Commission, This com- mission is at present quartered in the war-time strueture at Eighteenth and Constitution avenue and the Pan-Amer- ican Union proposes to construct a $1,- 000,000 office building on that site.
