STGETY BSERVES COLONAL VETORY Sons of American Revolution Celebrate British Evacua- tion of Boston. Representative Dieterich of Illinois and Dr. R. J. C. Dorsey addressed the Sons of the American Revolution at the Mayflower Hotel last night. the meeting being held on the eve of the anniversary of the final departure of British troops from Boston. Representative Dieterich described the activities of the ploneers of two centuries ago in forming the 13 Colonies despite the wilderness, and told how the spirit of freedom formed and fostered e great Nation of tod: ‘The group paid tribu uished members who within recent months Wwilliam _Knowles Coope Jayne Hill and Benjamin N. Johnson of Massachusetts, president of the na- tional order. Since Mr. Johnson's death Justice Josiah A. Van Orsdel of the District Court of Appeals ha been chosen to succeed him The society will celebrate Founders’ day April 15 this year, it was said although the date of the actual be- ginning of the organizatior was April 11. The annual congress of the Na- tional Society of Sons of the American Revolution, will convene in Washington May 15 President S. S. Williamson, of the group, presided at the meeting. Newton Baker, a member of the group, described the British evacu- ation of Boston in an address over Sta- tion WJSV. The retreat took place March 17, 1776 Dr. Baker said the skill and energy of Gen.
