DUNN BURIAL WILL BE HELD TODAY Inspector General, Who Died at Manila, to Be Given Military Funeral at Arlington. Military honors marked the burial In Arlington National Cemetery this aft- ernoon of Col. John M. Dunn, who died at Manila September 7 while serving as inspector seneral of the Philippine De- partment. His widow, Mrs. J. M. Dunn, accompanied his remains to this city. The_honorary pallbearers were Col. R. W. Coliins_and Lieut. Cols. A. J. Cooper, C. H. Patterson, G. L. Werten- berger, Earl Briscoe, P. D. Bunker and L. B. Magruder, ail of whom served with Col. Dunn 'in the Coast Artillery Corps. Born at Wilmington, Del., August 16 1875, Col. Dunn began his military serv- ice as first lieutenant in the 1st Dela- ware Infantry in May, 1898, and served in the Volunteer Army during the Span- ish War and the Philippine Insurrec- tion. In May, 1901, he was commis- sioned second llcutenant, United States Artillery. and reached the grade of colonel in June, 1930. -During the World War he served in Prance as chie; of the military intelligence division, general stafl, and was awarded the Distinguished vice Medal and the French Legion of Honor. After the war he served at Fort Leavenworth Kans., at the Army War College, on the War Department _general staff and at Fort_Totten. N. Y.. until he went to the Philippines in October last. MRS.
