Specifically mentioning the motion | picture producers and distributors, of | which Will H. Hays is president, the | report said that the treasurer of the | producers had made sworn statements | that he pald expenses and fees to| many members of religious and_social organizations; in the case of 52 per- gons expenses incurred in conferences or addresses were paid by the Hays organization. “Some very liberal pay- ments of expense accounts have been made,” continued the report. Charge Favor Sought. “Much of the time and strength of | the Hays organization seems to have | been given to cultivating persons of in- | tluence, gaining the f )t organtza- | tions and seeking to clear the road of | legislative or other obstacles to its | program.” The report charges that many of the | %50 persons connected with religious or social organizations had financial relationships with the Hays group in 1928, 29 and '30 Writes to Bishop. DALLAS, Tex., June 29.—County officers considered they had a tangible lead to follow today in efforts to solve the fatal shooting of Abe Schreiber, 20, of Galveston and Pauline Corman, 17. of Dallas on an unfrequented road | south of this city early yesterday.
