U. 5. SEEKS 12 MEN LINKED WITH GANG Secret Indictments Revealed at Detroit ac Result of Rum Probe. By the Associated Press. DETROIT, June 26.—A six months’ investigation by special prohibition agents from Cincinnati came to & cli- max here last night as Federal officers set out to round up 12 men indicted on charges of conspiracy to violate the pro- hibition law by operating a huge still in an abandoned Woodward avenue furniture warehouse. Two of the ac- cused are held in New York. Still Discovered. Secret indictments were returned egainst the men June 1. Six of those indicted are said to be members of a once powerful gang. The indictments ‘were the results of an undercover in- vestigation started last January 3, when firemen, called to the five-story warehouse to extinguish a blaze, dis- covered the still. ‘Those indicted are Harry Shore, Harry Fleischer, Jack Grendel, Harry Harris, Louis Gellerman and John E. Silvers, all alleged members of the Pur- ple gang; Albert Ehrlick and Jesse M. Barrymore, under arrest in New York; Morris Stoller, Henry Nussbaum, John St. John and C. P. Weil. Financed From Gotham.
