ALEXANDRIA, Va, May 9.— The marriage of Miss Gladys Driscoll, daughter of the lat> Rev. and Mrs. H. 8. Driscoll of Charlottesville, to Mr. Frederick Virginius Watkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Watkins of Suf- folk, took place Saturday afternoon, May 2, in the home of the bride’s broth- er-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ed- win H. Tompkins, in this city. Rev. Pierce S. Ellis, pastor of the First Bap- tist Church, officiated. The ceremony was performed before an improvised altar in the drawing room, which was decorated with palms, ferns and Spring flowers and lighted by candles. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Mr. Edwin T. Driscoll of Charlottesville, and wore an afternoon ensemble of silver gray flat creps with & shell pink blouse and long shell pink gloves, He hat was gray straw with ink gardenias and she carried an arm gau juet of sweetheart roses and lilies of &ae valley. Miss Lillian Driscoll of Charlottesviile, sister of the bride, was the only attendant and wore a gown of blue flat crepe with an egg color blouse and long white gloves and & blue straw hat. She carried an arm bouquet of Spring flowers. Mr. Wat- kins had his brother, Mr. M. E. Wat- kins of Suffolk, as best man. The mu- sic was played by a trio of stringed in- struments and plano. Following the ceremony there was a reccplion to Which no additional guests weie asked, | and later Mr. and Mrs. Watkins left for a motor trip through Virginia and were in Winchester for several days last week during the Apple Blossom Festival.
