In a statement, regarded as the open- ing shot of the administration in its farm belt campaign, Senator Dickinson, Republican, of Iowa, yesterday hailed the Federal Farm Board and the pro- tective tariff policy as beneficial factors in curbing the effect of the depression in this country. ‘The Senator's statement was issued on the eve of his departure to set up headquarters of the Republican Agri- cultural Advisory Council in Des Moines. Expressing the view that “we are ready to press forward to a better business era,” he assailed the tariff critics as “economic theorists” and “in- dustrial internationalists.” Dickinson sald he believed establish- ment of the Farm Board two years ago “prevented the worst market decline that has faced our producers in a good many years.” Births Reported.
