Kelley, Native of Virginia, Suffered Intensely From Burns Received Years Ago. By the Associated Press. COVINGTON, Ky., April 25.—J. Rob- ert Kelley, 60, president of the Kelley- Koett X-ray Manufacturing Co., Cov- ington, dled at his home Thursday night after a long illness. Known_throughout the medical world for the X-rays he manufactured, the malady which afflicted him was be- leved to have been contracted during the days of his experiments. During his earlier years of investigation, Kelley received many burns which caused him intense suffering throughout his later . Born in Thessali iles County, Va., November 17, 1871, at the age of 20 he became a telegrapher. Then he en- gaged in the retail shoe business in Huntington, W. Va. In 1895 he went to Butte, Mont.,, as manager of a shoe concern and later to Boston. Mr. Kelley visioned great possibilities in the discovery of the X-ray by Roent- n, and with what limited means he d he devoted much of his time to experimental work. McCrory signed an agreed judgment. The judgment gave $67,000 in bonds, $12,000 in cash and $20,000 worth of personal effects to the twins.
