Henry, 86 years old, who died in Naval Hospital Tuesday, were conducted at the Tabler funeral home, 928 M street, this afternoon. The body is being taken to_Gosport, Ind., for burial. Capt. Henry, who was an examining clerk at the office of the alien property custodian, was former State bank ex- | aminer of Indiana. He was born in Cleveland, Tenn., and served with the Indiana volunteers during the Civil | War, taking part in a number of majo: engagements of that conflict. After coming to this city, he was appointed to represent Indiana at the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial here. Capt. Henry was a Scottish Rite Mason, a member of the Templar and the Shrine. a member of Burnside Post Army of the Republic, and of the Na- tional City Chrisiian Church A niece, Mrs. Charles F. Deruelle S. Porter, former secretary of the four Chesapeake & Potomac Tele- | phone Companies, and widely known in | this city, died at his home, 210 West Thornapple street, Chevy Chase, Md., early last night after an illness of sev- eral months. Born August 14, 1857, at Marysville, Ohio, Mr. Porter was educated in the schools there. He entered the employ of the Chesa- peake & Potomac Telephone Co. July 1, 1906, in the commercial department in this city. Subsequently he was named division' manager for Washington and | vicinity. Promoted Again in 1918, In March, 1918 he was elected to the office of secretary of the four Chesa- | peake & Potomac Telephone Companies, including those of Washington, Balti- more City, Md.: Virginia and West Virginia. He heid this office until re- tiring June 3, 1930. He was elected president of the Alex- ander Graham Bell Chapter, Telephone Plonecrs of America, May 27, 1928. Mr. Porter was a director of the Union Trust Co., a member of the Con- gressional Country Club and was active in the Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade prior to his fllness.
