HE President and Mrs. Hoover have sent out invitations to & dance for young people Tues- day, December 30, at 10 o'clock, In the White House. Mr. Allan Hoover joined his parents at the Executive Mansion the end of last week. Secretary Mellon Host To Out-of-Town Guests. The Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Mellon, had as his guests for the week end his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs David K. E. Bruce; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hitchcock of New York, the latter a niece of Mr. Mellon, and Mr. Paul Mellon, son of the Secretary, who has come from Cambridge, Eng- land, where he attends college. The Secretary entertained at dinner Saturday evening, when the ranking uests were the Italian Ambassador and %onnn de Martino and the Minister of Switzerland and Mme. Peter. The Minister of Panama and Senora de Alfaro entertained at luncheon yes- terday in compliment to the Governor ot the Panama Canal Zone and Mrs. Harry Burgess. The guests included the judge of the Canal Zone and Mrs, Leni- han, the second counselor of the Italian embassy and Signora Cataleni, Gen. and Mrs. George P. Scriven, Representative and Mrs. Sol Bloom and their daughter, Miss Vera Bloom; Director General of | the Pan-American Union Dr. L. S. Rowe, Mrs. Henry F. Dimock, Mr. R.
