By the Associated Press, | DEARBORN, Mich, June 12—Offi-, eials of the Ford Motor Co. announced Tuesday that Dearborn, Henry Ford's | home town, is “perhaps the driest in- dustrial community of its size in the | country.” Two months ago investigators said Dearborn was “moderately wet.” The Ford Motor Co. immediately began a drive against “blind pigs” in co-opera- | tion with the Dearborn Police Depart- ment. Tuesday H. H. Bennett, head of-the Fora service division, which op- | erates as a factory police system, said | that “beer kitchens,” which formerly | were operated among the houses shel- | tering Ford employes, had completely | disappeared. Carl A. Brooks, chief of | police, added the statement that “there is not a blind pig worthy of the name in_the entire city.” The Ford Co started the drive in the interests of industrial efficienc Ben-‘ nett said. He asserted that si the co-operative law enforcement move was started almost no drinking has_beel detected among Ford employes. Work- ers who appeared at the Ford factory with the smell of liquor con their breaths were disciplined or discharged.
