B$6 @ HIEH SCHOOL GROL NEETS N REUNION dlass of 1886 Entertained With Numerous Speeches and Program of Music. ‘The class of 1886 of the old Washing- ton High School held its forty-fourth reunion Saturday night at the Burling- ton Hotel. Members of the class of the school, the first institution to be specifically used as a high school in the District, were entertained with numerous speeches and a musical program. Among _the speakers were Miss Blanche Beckman, Mrs. Grace Ross Chamberlin, Mrs. Fuiton Lewis, Mrs. Elmer S. Newton, Miss Annie Wilson, Miss Dela Mussey, Mrs. Willard E. Buell, Dr. Elmer E. Newton, Gideon A. Lyon and Harvey A. Smith. Topics Discussed by Speakers. Dr. Newton, principal of Western High School, spoke on “How to Run a High School” and Mr. Smith, principal of Central High School, spoke on “Im- pressions of Washington.” Letters were read from a number of classmates unable to be present, includ- ing one from Miss Grace Parker, an invalid member of the class. CHEST GROUP LEADERS FORM “KEYMEN’S CLUB” Leaders of the Community Chest {roup solicitation unit were formed into he “Keymens' Club” at a meeting last night in the Episcopal Eye, Ear and ‘Throat Hospital, the first of a series arranged to acquaint them with the work. of the various agencies allied un- der Comm:mlg Chest. Elwood Street, director, of the Chest, presided. Rev. Calvert E. Buck, superintendent of the hospital, welcomed the visiting delegation and spent some time answer- ing their questions as to the workings of the institution- After the meeting the “Keymens' Club” members were shown through the hospital by members of the staff. TRIPLE COLLISION BRINGS JAIL TERM Driver in Alexandrid Gets 30 Days and Fines on Various Trafic Charges. Special Dispatch to The ; ALEXANDRIA, Va, April 16—J. J. Heinrick, 50, of 100 block North Patrick street, this city, was fined $100 and costs and sentenced to 30 days in jail on a charge of driving while drunk and fined $50 and costs on a charge of colliding by Judge Willlam S. Snow in Police Court today. The charges grew out of a triple collision near Hume Spring, on Mount Vernon avenue, last night when a car driven by Heinrick is said tp have struck the auto of F. R. Rodden, 1319 F street northwest, Washington, and then struck the car of H. M. Cook, 302 South Fairfax street, this city. Helnrick’s car came to rest up against a telephone pole. All of the automo- biles were considerably damaged. Heinrick noted an appeal when the sentences were pronounced.
