SOCITETY. SOCIETY German Envoy and Return From Frau von Prittwitz Celebration at Charleston, S. C. have returned from Aiken, 8. C. where they were guests over Sun- day of Mrs. James F. Curtis, who has also_returned to her Washington home. The Ambassador and Frau von Prittwitz attended the 250th anniver- sary of the settlement of that city, which was celebrated last week. Both the Chinese room, where din- ner was served, and the pan-American room, in which the Secretary and Mrs. Hyde received their guests, were gor- geously decorated in keeping with the reputation already established by the hosts in providing unusually rare and beautiful plants and flowers at all the functions they have given since their arrival in the Capital. Palms, ferns, pandanas and crotons, with baskets of Spring flowers, were used for the room decorations, and on the long oblong table were plaques of yellow and blue Dutch iris, with Dar- win tulips in lavender, light red and pink transforming the table into an elaborate garden setting, with pansies and maidenhair fern strewn over the entire cloth. Mrs. Edward Everett Gann will assist in receiving at the tea to be given to- morrow afternoon by Mrs. Walter F. George, wife of Senator George of Geor- gla, and Mrs, Willlam J.
