By the Associated Pres: NEW YORK, April 14.—Representative Florence Kahn of San Francisco last night said in a speech here that 10 years of prohibition have brought “drinking, carousing and dissipating” into the lives of boys and girls and caused “the living” to “roll in the dirt and mir She spoke at a mass protest meeting held under the auspices of the Wom- en's Organization for National Prohi- bition Reform and the Association Against the Eightecnth Amendment. She said the sum total “of what prohibition had done for the individual is to be found in the “increase of crime that even the most audacious of dry advocates cannot deny,” and added that “more crimes of a horrible nature are committed than ever before.” Representative James M. Beck of Pennsylvania, former solicitor general of the United States, who also spoke, said prohibition was an attempt to sub- ject Americans to “a form of moral slavery that is unworthy of a free people.
