Burial services were held in the Ar- lington National Cemetery today for Maj. Frederick V. Krug, U. S. tired, who died in Paris, France, 17, while on a visit to that city with his wife, Mrs. Burt Krug. Born in Lancaster, Pa., August 28, 1863, Maj. Krug was a resident of this city when he entered the military service in Oc- tober, 1884, as a second lieutenant of Infantry. He served as captain, 20th United States Infantry, in the Philip- pine Insurrection and was awarded a silver star citation for gallantry in ac- tion against insurgent forces at Cainta, Luzon, P. I. In March, 1908, he wa placed on the retired list as a major for disability in line of duty, but on his own application he was reassigned to active duty during the entire period of the World War.
