STRONG ELECTED RULER OF ELKS Officers to Be Installed by Lodge No. 15 at Meeting April 2. George E. Strong was elected exalted " ruler of Washington Lodge, No. 18, B. P. O. Elks, at the annual meeting for the election of officers last night. Other officers elected were John J. Moriarity, esteemed leading knight; David La Porte, esteemed loyal knight; Leonard Gawler, esteemed lecturing night; Willlam S. Shelby, secretary; Nathan Weill, treasurer; Tom King, tiler, and Dr. Thomas E. O'Donnell, trustee. ‘The officers are to be installed at a meeting April 2. During ghe World War Mr. Stron? the new exalted ruler, was a flying of ficer attached to the 122d Air Squad- ron, and at present holds the rank of major in the Reserve Corps. ‘While serving as secretary to Repre- sentative Strong of Kansas in 1921, Mr. Strong was speaker of the “little Con- gress.” From 1921 to 1925, when he resigned to become a member of the Be held " ‘mumber of Important poSk: e a number o posi- tions in the Department of Justice, in- cluding that of special assistant to the Attorney General. Mr, Strong is a graduate of the Uni- versity of Chicago, the University of Kansas and George Washington Uni- wversity.
