Kann Sons Co. oper- ators of the large department store here, who died at his home, 1321 Eutaw place, Baltimore, Sunday, were conducted at the Baltimore residence this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Dr, Willlam Rosenau of the Eutaw Place Temple officlated. In- terment was in the Baltimore Hebrew Cemetery. The services were attended by the ex- ecutives, members of the office force and other employes of the department store here, in addition to many other of Mr. Kann's stanch friends of many years. ‘The store, which was closed yesterday, remained closed again today out of re- spect to Mr. Kann's memory. A com- mittee of officers of the Washington Advertising Club, which called off its meeting scheduled for today out of re- spect to Mr. Kann, attended the serv- ices. Mr. Kann, who would have been 65 years old in June, had been in business here for more than 35 years, beginning with a small store at 909 Pennsylvania avenue. The business grew rapidly and he and his brothers purchased a store at Eighth and Market place. From then on the business continued to prosper and additions to the store were made, until today it stands as one of the Na- tional Capital's largest departmen stores. Mr. Kann was widely known here and had been active in philanthropic work, supporting both public and private char- ities. His illness, resulting in his death, lasted only a few days. At first thought to be bronchitis, it was later diagnosed as heart disease. . ANTI-PRIZE FIGHT PROPOSAL FAVORED Police Inspector Supports Hartley Bill Allowing Amateur Boxing. COMMITTEE PUTS OFF FARM BOARD PROBE Postponement of Action on Nye Resolution Requested by Secretary Hyde. By the Associated Press. At the request of Secretary Hyde, the Senate agriculture committee today de- ferred action on a resolution by Senator Nye, Republican, North Dakota, calling for investigation of Federal Farm Board activities. Chairman McNary said Secretary Hyde and Chairman Legge of the board probably would be questioned before the committee acted.
