B—10 M.E FAGANRIES HELDATSTPALS Accountant Who Held Impor- tant Positions With Gov- ernment Buried. Funeral services for Mathias E. Fagan, 72 years old, expert accountant, who formerly held several positions of importance with the Government, were conducted in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Fifteenth and V streets, today at 9 o'clock. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mr., Fagan died at his home, 1440 V street, Tuesday night after a long ill- ness. His last work with the Govern- ment was that of special administrative and disbursing agent, while attached to | from Moseo the Department of Agriculture, for the Congressional appropriation for the | j extermination of the corn borer in the Middle Western States. This work was carried on in 1928 and 1929. During the McKinley-Roosevelt cam- | Mr. paign, Mr. an served as secretary of the general campaign committee at Chicago. This work brought him into contact with Mr. Roosevelt and resulted in the development of a personal friend- ship between the two.
