Shuler heard of their actions” unless they voted for ‘eonviction. ‘The women said they originally cast “not guilty” ballots, but switched to #guilty” after the alleged threat and when it was agreed that the verdict would carry a “recommendation for clemency.” Shuler’s radio talks in ref- erence to Mrs. Pantages trial resulted in his conviction on con(emp! of court charges.
