SOCIETY. THE SUNDAY STAR, WASHINGTO! Myopia Hunt Club Outlines Colorful Autumn_ Feature Willowdale Meet Columbus Day an Annual Event on North Shore—Washington Folk Among Late Arrivals. BEVERLY, &hss.. September 28. — Most_colorful 8f all Autumn events on the North Shore will be the annual Wil- lowdale meet of the Myopia Hunt Club at Hamilton, on Columbus day. It will start at the Bradley W. Palmer place, which is near the estate of Maj. George S. Patton, U. S. A, at Hamilton, and the races will bring out some of the best steeplechasers in the country. Mr. Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes of the United States Supreme Court has returned to Washington after a long and most interesting Summer on the North Shore. Justice Holmes, who has passed the four score mark, is fine and fit after his sojourn at Beverly Farms, where he gets rest every Summer from the long labor during the session of the Supreme Court. Justice Holmes lives in the home which his father, the late poet, Oliver Wendell Holmes occupied for so many years off Hale street. He enjoys the walks and takes a keen in- terest in the beautiful little gardens on the estate. His health has been very good this Summer. Mr. and Mrs. Southgate Plan Winter in Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Southgate of Chicago, who have been visiting Mrs, Southgate's parents, Dr. and Mrs. James Henry Lancashire of New York, have closed their North Shore stay and have gone to Washington for the Winter. Mr. and Mrs. Houston Rawls of Marion have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leiter at Edgewater house, their Bever- ly Farms Summer home. Comdr. James B. Waller, U. 8. N.. on from Washington for a visit with family at Beverly Farms. They will soon return to Washington for the Winter.
