WILLIAM J. CALHOUN MAY GET DRY LAW PROMOTION Head of New York Agents Ts Con- sidered for Position as Assistant Chief, William J. Calhoun, who has been until recently head of special agents in New York City, is under consideration for the post of assistant prohibition commissioner, which may become va- cant soon with the appointment of Aif Oftedal to be collector of internal rev- enue at San Francisco. Oftedal is now on_vacation and is taking a motor trip across the \country to his former home in San Prancisco. Calhoun is at pro- hibition headquarters here, where he has just assumed the dutiés of lc!an deputy prohibition commissioner, and 's actuaily performing much of the work l formerly handled by Oftedal.
