BY STANLEY W. PRENOSIL, Associated Press Financial Editor, NEW YORK, August 6.—Zasing call money rates checked a sharp decline in | today’s stock market. Prices of many ctive shares were carried down 1 to 8 points in the morning selling move- ment but most of the losses were eut in half, or better, and a sprinkling of issues carried 2 to 6 points above yes- terday's final quotations in the early afternoon recovery. Trading was hizrly]huv_v in volume. arly selling was inspired largely b; a further break in Middle Western utilities stocks on the Chicago Stock Exchange, the high renewal rate on call loans and predictions of an in- crease in the Bank of England rate on Thursday.
