Tragedy Ends Picnic Party of Hon- durdn High School Students Near Tegucigalpa. By the Assoclated Press. TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, July 16. —Laughing and hflppy at the end of a perfect day’s picnicking, 11 Honduran high school girls yesterday went to their eath when the truck in which they were riding crashed into a 1,000-foot :l:yss near Sauce, a few miles from Twenty-two were hurt, some seriously. The driver, Luis Medina, was killed. Finally after a day spent in funmaking they piled onto the truck for the trip back to Tegucigalpa, many seated about the edge of the truck with their feet hang- ing over its sides. It was not known exactly what caused the truck to go over the side of the road, but it was thought possibly the driver's attention was distracted mo- mexétagilymatkal dangerous spot in the road by their laughing and gaiet; - hind him. All theaters and concerts were suspended, and na- | tional mourning will be declared on the \ funeral day. | British Officialdom Steps In to Avert Manchester Strike. LONDON, July 16 (#).—The Herald, Labor party newspaper, last night stated that the ministry of labor has intervened in the Manchester cotton Jndustry dispute, which threatened to throw 500,000 workers out of employ- ment. Its officers are in touch with op- eratives and employers and are seeking a solution that will avert a lockout. Meanwhile, the board of trade is ar- ranging an inquiry into the whole problem of the cotton industry. The Federation of Master Cotton Spinners a few days ago voted to en- force a reduction of about 12 per cent in wages after July 29. The workers had declared early in June that any Bottles of waxed paper are being in- troduced by a London dairy. ‘ %MILWAUKEE Rone (EENE SR “Arch-Preserver” “Arch-Preserver” ‘‘Arch-Preserver” rch-Preserver” Arch-Preserver” rch-Preserver” -Preserver” Preserver” °reserver’ 'reserver”’ —teserver’ Arch-Preserver” “Arch-Preserver” “Arch-Preserver” “Arch-Preserver” “Arch-Preserver”
