Funeral services for Rev. W. F. Mar- tin, president of the Potomac Confer- ence of Seventh-Dav Adventists, who died in Ooltewah, Tenn., Friday, were conducted in the Takoma Park Seventh- Day Adventist Church today at 10 o'clock. Shaw, treasurer of the General Conference, who was Mr. Mar- tins’ roommate when the two were stu- dents in the Battle Creek, Mich.,, Col- lege, and with whom he started as an evangelist, officiated. ‘The body will be sent to Walla Walla, Wash., for burial Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Martin, the widow, will be_ ac- companied to Washington State by Rev. C. L. Bond of the young people’s de- partment of the General Conference. Rev. Mr. Martin had been president of the Potomac Conference for the past three years, having come to this city from Glendale, Calif., where he was sec- retary of the Pacific Religious Liberty Association for several years. An asso- ciate editor of the Liberty, a periodlcal published by Seventh-Day Adventists in defense of civil and religious liberty, Rev. Mr. Martin was a frequent con= tributor of articles in which he opposed Sunday blue laws, and was an exten- sive traveler, He appeared before con- gressional committees in ‘Washington on occasions when a Sunday law was pro- posed for the District of Columbia. Mr. Martin was 60 years old, and was born_in Girard, Kans.
