One of the most most outstanding landmarks of old Georgetown is the present hcme of Alexander Kirk, on the corner of Wis- conisn avenue and R street, formerly known as the Dumbarton Club. Mr. Kirk is at present counselor of the American embassy in Rome, but has cabled permission for his gardens to be opened. The array of box hedge of which the place can boast, is one of the main attractions of the gardens. Evermay, the 1623 Twenty-eighth street home of Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Belin, who are at present_abroad, is rented in their absence to Representa- tive Ruth Pratt, from New York State.
